MIX MONDAYS: Video Lost The War

Just about caught up now, so Mix Mondays will sadly be ending soon. This week’s mix comes from last year, after digging deeper into obscure 80s minimal wave, synth pop, and post punk. In the same vein as A Friend Called Five, this mix showcases tracks from the 80s DIY synth scene that we didn’t have enough time to include the first time around.

Some old favorites like Depeche Mode, Turquoise Days, and Sigue Sigue Sputnik make an appearance, while we’re introduced Oto’s early precursor to goth, Cube’s best Joe Jackson impression, and some awesome French and Swedish synth pop to close things out.

This was the final mix before launching into Skinemax, so you can hear some of the original 80s music that was influencing the spirit of the project.

We’ll be featuring Skinemax next week and some other old stuff going forward to keep Mix Mondays alive, but rest assured that Smash TV is not resting on its laurels, oh no. We have two new full length videos a la Skinemax in the works, and they are going to blow your minds. There’s a bunch of audio mixes just waiting to be made as well, so you haven’t seen the last of Smash TV, friends.
